Midnight’s 12.1.5 Content Update Is Live

While Forever dominates the headlines, Retail just received a substantial update. Midnight 12.1.5 went live with weekly maintenance on October 13 in North America (October 14 in Europe). It brings a single-boss raid, a new mega-Delve, the return of Keystone Myth, a new story campaign and zone-wide Aqir Invasions.

Raid: The Unbinding of Kith’ix

Ula’tek’s defeat weakened the bindings on Kith’ix, the C’Thraxxi general the Amani sealed beneath the Venomous Abyss. Lady Liadrin fights at your side in a focused single-boss raid on Story, Normal, Heroic and Mythic difficulties. Mythic is flexible at 15–25 players.

Labyrinth of Kindo’jan

A sprawling, Delve-like gauntlet inside a sealed Amani funeral complex:

  • It has nine chambers, a Tier 11 solo challenge, and rewards including Mythic gear, cosmetics and titles.
  • Valeera Sanguinar is your companion.
  • Clear it in one session or one wing at a time. Each extra room adds more rewards and more risk.
  • Getting there: it lies north of Amani Pass in Eversong Woods. Accept “The Long Way Around” through the campaign, or take “The Labyrinth” from Kul’amara the Fierce at Tokka’s Landing on the Coiled Isle. Complete the Chamber of Rites, then speak with Kinduru to unlock the remaining chambers for your Warband.

Keystone Myth Returns

Reach a Mythic+ rating of 3600 to earn “Midnight Keystone Myth: Season 2.” Blizzard is also making targeted dungeon tuning changes to address difficulty outliers.

Campaign and World Events

  • “The Promise of Tomorrow” continues the Quel’Thalas and Zul’Aman story and ends at Kith’ix.
  • Aqir Invasions run for ten minutes each hour in Eversong or Zul’Aman: a chain of public events ending in a boss fight. There are six scenario types and eight possible combat affixes.

Power Timeline: Ascendant Venomstones

  • Week of October 13: Orin Straylight offers “Ancient Depths, Ancient Venom” in Silvermoon City and begins his research.
  • Week of October 20: Orin offers “Ascending with Venomstones,” and the crest cap is lifted.
  • Drop sources: every Heroic or Mythic raid boss, Mythic+ Keystones at +10 and above, Tier 11 Bountiful Delves, and Nightmare Prey Hunt Champion gear chests.
  • Use: spend 10 Ascendant Venomstones at the Catalyst in Silvermoon City to raise the item level of a fully upgraded Season 2 Hero, Myth or maximum-quality Tidal Crafted weapon, trinket or necklace.

What’s Next for Retail

The next content update, Echoes of the Worldcore, is on the PTR. After that, Blizzard has announced Eclipse (12.2) as Midnight’s next major update, with more information on The Last Titan promised early next year.

RUIN Status

RUIN’s near-term priority is the World of Warcraft: Forever launch on November 4. The Retail track stays open for dual-track members, and 12.1.5 gives them plenty to push. If you are running Kith’ix, Mythic+ or the Labyrinth, find a group in Discord. Then join the Forever deployment.
