Destiny 2 beta codes are starting to be sent out, and you can register for the preview and pre-download it today at 10 AM PDT, I believe. Early access for PS4 starts on July 18 with Xbox One a day later, and players will be getting a taste of a mission, a Strike, a Crucible mode and supposedly not much else, with Bungie choosing to give less away this time around.

There was a lot showcased in the original Destiny beta, pretty much all of Old Russia and most of its missions, and it even took players to the Moon for a mission as well. It’s also important to remember that the Destiny beta was after the Destiny alpha, meaning there were a lot of early previews for this game. I’m pretty sure I had 20-25 hours into Destiny before the game even launched.

I thought it would be kind of fun to go back to my original articles about the beta, The Good, The Bad and the In-Between of the Destiny Beta, where I talk about the game’s strengths, weaknesses and what I still wasn’t sure about. Some things are issues I totally forgot I even had, others are things that are still relevant to the series today, and may crop up in the Destiny 2 beta.

Available September 6. PC Available October 24. Release date subject to change.
