Assassin’s Creed Mirage Takes Players to Ninth Century Baghdad

The future of Assassin’s Creed has been revealed with five new upcoming games, details on the Assassin’s Creed INFINITY hub, as well as news about the partnership with Netflix. Coming in 2023 is Assassin’s Creed Mirage which takes place in ninth-century Baghdad and centers on the coming-of-age story of Basim Ibn Is’haq, the Hidden One introduced in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Two additional flagship Assassin’s Creed games: Assassin’s Creed Codename RED and Assassin’s Creed Codename HEXE, were also teased with the former taking place in the long-awaited setting of feudal Japan. Both titles will be part of the Assassin’s Creed Codename INFINITY hub. A new AAA mobile game, Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade, was also revealed, as well as more information about the upcoming collaboration with Netflix. Assassin’s Creed Mirage launches in 2023 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC, Stadia, Amazon Luna, and will also be available on PC with a Ubisoft+ subscription. Those looking for even more on day one can preorder the Deluxe Edition which includes the base game, a digital artbook, digital soundtrack, and deluxe digital pack containing a Prince of Persia-inspired outfit, eagle and mount skins, weapons, and more. Those who want the ultimate Assassin’s Creed Mirage experience can preorder the Collector’s Case, which includes everything available in the Deluxe Edition plus a 32cm figurine of Basim, an exclusive Steelbook with a design chosen by fans, a mini-artbook, Basim’s brooch replica, a map of Baghdad as well as a Selected Soundtrack of the game. The Collector’s Case is available at retail and on the Ubisoft Store.

Assassin’s Creed Codename HEXE

Following Assassin’s Creed Codename RED will be Assassin’s Creed Codename HEXE, which is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal, with Clint Hocking serving as creative director.

Assassin’s Creed Codename RED is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec (makers of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate) with Creative Director Jonathan Dumont. The game will be the next evolution of Assassin’s Creed’s open-world RPG design and take players to the long-awaited setting of feudal Japan.

Assassin’s Creed Codename INFINITY

RED and HEXE will both be a part of Assassin’s Creed Codename INFINITY, a hub that will connect players through different types of Assassin’s Creed experiences, old and new. INFINITY will also bring multiplayer back to Assassin’s Creed with a standalone experience.

Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade

For those who want to take Assassin’s Creed with them everywhere they go, there’s Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade, a AAA RPG action-adventure game for mobile devices set in ancient China. The free-to-play game will allow players to create their own character and discover a unique standalone storyline.

Assassin’s Creed and Netflix

Finally, there was an update on the live-action Assassin’s Creed series being developed by Ubisoft Film & Television and Netflix. The genre-bending adaptation will be helmed by showrunner, Jeb Stuart (Vikings: Valhalla, Die Hard). Ubisoft and Netflix are also working together to develop an Assassin’s Creed game exclusively for the platform.
